Wide Format Inkjet Paper is a industry term that really is the same as ‘large format inkjet paper’ or ‘inkjet format paper’ and a few good others. Essentially, “wide format inkjet paper” is any paper larger than 24 inches that can be used to create on a large printer or plotter that uses a 2 inch core. Ok – that may be a bit confusing. Let’s break this down. Inkjet paper used in a large printer or plotter is associated with HP as in HP inkjet paper. Now, HP is known for their paper being used on HP Plotters and others that print on roll paper which has a core equal to “2 inches”. That in itself is a main reason, however, keeping the paper adept to the correct machine will give your printing heads LONGER life. Replacing a print head can be over $600. So play it by the guidelines and save yourself heartache. Wide format inkjet paper is on a 2 inch core roll and is coated to absorb coloring from INK pigments. Now, second easy identifier is that the paper is a roll or sheet equal to 24 inches or greater.
